Recent Visiting Artists, Kristina Estell and David Bowen are sculptors living and working in Duluth, MN. While both are concerned with the relationship between nature and the fabricated world, David uses kinetics and robotics to create his installations, while Kristina works more with soft forms, sewing and natural materials in her installation works.
Kristina Estell received her BFA degree from Herron School of Art in Indianapolis in 2000 and her MFA degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 2004.

Her work has been recently featured group exhibitions such as: Kadyn ve Sanat at the Cekirdek Art Atelier in Istanbul, Turkey; Spatially Inspired: Media & Form at the Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, IL; and Alpan International at the Alpan Gallery in Long Island, NY. Kristina also has an upcoming one person exhibition at Normandale Community College in Minneapolis, MN.
David Bowen received his BFA degree from Herron School of Art in Indianapolis in 1999 and his MFA degree from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis in 2004, His work has been featured in Artbots,
the robot talent show at the Eyebeam Atelier in New York, NY; Good Work at Dangerous Curve in Los Angeles, CA; Robotix at PASS-Parc d’ Adventure Scientifiques in Brussels, Belgium; and Art of Machines at the Rxgallery blasthaus, San Francisco, CA. He is an Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

They were both selected to participate in an international artist's residency in Balatonfured, Hungary in the summer of 2006.
