Accomplishments and Upcoming Events:
Dave Truesdale, "No Soup for You!" MFA thesis exhibition at University Museum, Mitchell Gallery, July 18-25, with a reception July 25, 4-7 pm.

Kevin Curry is one of 3 artists selected to exhibit work in the 2008 Baum MFA Biennial. The exhibit will take place in the Baum Gallery of Fine Art at Central Arkansas University. The Baum MFA Biennial Competitive invites submissions by artists who have completed their MFA exhibit and degree in 2007 or 2008. This biennial competitive awards a post-graduate exhibit of all or a portion of selected artists’ MFA thesis work: the 2008 emphasis is 3D construction in all media. Juror is Justin Novak, ceramicist and Associate Professor of Art at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada. Selected bodies of work will be featured in the Baum MFA Biennial Exhibition scheduled for September 18 – October 30, 2008. Images and artists will be featured in the accompanying brochure and in web and print media.

Kay Zivkovich and Xuhong Shang promoted to Professor.
Najjar Abdul-Musawwir promoted to Associate Professor with tenure.

Dr. Carma Gorman's essay, "Educating the Eye: Body Mechanics and Streamlining in the United States, 1925-1950," has been named by the Organization of American Historians as one of the 10 best American history essays of the year!

Dr. Stacey Sloboda, Assistant Professor in Art History, was awarded a fellowship as a Visiting Scholar at the Yale Center for British Art in New Haven for Spring 2009.
