Good News! New American Paintings
Andrew Hairstans (MFA '04), Nick Pena (BFA '01), and Dan Rule (BFA '01)

Congratulations to Andrew Hairstans (MFA, 2004), Nick Pena (BFA, 2001) and Dan Rule (BFA, 2001)on their inclusion in the most recent (September, 2006) issue of New American Paintings, a national publication that publishes a bimonthly juried exhibition of paintings from regions in the USA.

Our 3 former students are among only 40 painters who are winners in the 2006 Midwestern Competition.  Only a very few schools are represented by 3 or more painters; they are the University of Iowa (4), the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (3), Washington University (3), and Minneapolis College of Art and Design (4).  We recognize the continuing high quality work of our former students and are proud of their accomplishment!
