"Since I retired in 1998 I have enjoyed traveling and not having a schedule. We have three dogs that I groom, and while it is a challenge, I find it is something I rather enjoy.
In 1996 Michael Onken and I were married. We currently live in Carbondale. Having three dogs rather limits us in traveling together so we take turns. I have been to Ireland several times, and I’m looking forward to returning.
About four years ago I started taking classes in Hypnosis, Reiki and Healing Touch at John A. Logan and have continued pursuing those interests. I now do hypnosis for people wanting to lose weight or stop smoking. I have good success for those afraid of the dentist and for stopping migraine headaches.
Occasionally, I bring out my watercolors and paint a bit. I enjoy it, but I seem to be pulled away by the computer or other activities.
I find I miss the interaction with the students and the busy office. It was a very good time in my life working at SIU. I keep in touch with several students and co-workers who were in Art & Design from 1985-1998 and would love to hear from those I haven’t seen.
