The collaborative printmaking exhibition between the School of Art & Design and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts will be on display in the Vergette Gallery from March 18th to March 22nd.

In this cultural exchange project, artists from SIU and the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts were asked to initiate a conversation, creating the beginning of an image with the intent that it would be completed by another party. Participants were randomly paired twice, beginning one edition of prints and completing a second. A range of printmaking techniques and stylistic approaches were employed, speaking not only to the wide spectrum of printmaking as a medium, but also the conceptual and aesthetic options available for artists to collaboratively create and solve a problem.
